Harford Streams Upper Bynum Run Study A program developed and administered by Harford County Government
The Upper Bynum Run Small Watershed Assessment is currently under development.
A draft report is anticipated in early 2018 and will be available for public comment. The plan will include a list of potential restoration projects to improve stream health.
Bynum Run, a tributary to the Bush River, is located between Forest Hill and Abingdon, Maryland. The watershed or area of land that drains to the stream is 15,000 acres. The headwaters is located near the intersection of MD Route 24 and Jarrettsville Road. The Upper Bynum Run Small Watershed Assessment will only include the area from MD Route 22 near Bynum Run Park north to the headwaters, or approximately 30% of the total watershed.
Maryland Department of the Environment has identified Bynum Run and its tributaries as impacted by sediment. As a result Harford County was required to develop the Bynum Run Restoration Plan for Sediment in 2016.
